I got my HVAC Technology certificate from San Jacinto College and spent time working alongside guys in the trades. Early mornings, brutal Texas heat, the kind of work that wears on your body over the years. I respected every one of them. Those men work hard and they earn it.
But I had to be honest with myself. That life wasn't built for me. Not because I was afraid of hard work, but because I knew my strengths were somewhere else. Walking away from that path wasn't easy, and it wasn't just a daydream either. It was a real decision.
I turned down the short-term money and bet on myself. I pivoted into tech from scratch and today I support a network of dental offices across Texas as an IT professional, handling network infrastructure, VoIP systems, HIPAA compliance, and day-to-day support.
